Hi everyone!
I’m back with another drawing tutorial!
Today’s will be a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a swan!
I loved drawing swans since I was a child.
They are such a beautiful subject to draw, no matter what your age or skill level!
I hope this tutorial can help you get a hang of drawing swans – so that you can draw them whenever your heart desires to in the future!
Drawing Tip: Start off your sketch using a pencil first. When you are satisfied with your pencil sketch, go over the lines you like with an ink pen. When the ink dries, erase your pencil sketch underneath to reveal your final drawing!
And the best drawing tip of all – Just have fun with it! Don’t worry too much about getting it perfect or exactly like how I drew it.
It is perfectly fine if yours is different!
That is the beauty of art!
I think the most important goal to get from art is to enjoy it 🙂
Enjoy the process. And through it all, we will find finished pieces we enjoy too!
Also – at the end of the blog post, I have also included other swan drawing ideas for you to try out as well. I hope you enjoy!
Now let’s get started!
Step 1: Draw a 2
Let’s start off by drawing the number 2 in pencil (we’ll be erasing some parts of it in the end so pencil is best for this step).
This will be the overall shape of your swan! Can you see it?
Step 2: Draw the Beak and Neck
Next, let’s draw our swan’s head and neck as shown below.
Extend a beak shape from the top of your 2. Then, draw a curved line along the slanted part of the 2.
Step 3: Draw a Wing
Next, let’s draw the wing of our swan.
Extend upwards from about 2/3 down the neck and draw the curves of the feathers as shown below.
For the last feather, connect it to the end of the 2 that we drew during Step 1.
Step 4: Draw the Tail
Let’s draw the tail of our swan next!
Step 5: Draw the Other Wing
This one is a very easy step!
Draw the other wing as shown below.
Step 6: Erase
Let’s erase a small part of the line we drew in Step 1.
Step 7: Add the Finishing Details
Draw in a black beak and some feathers on the wing.
Feel free to add any other details you like, such as the swan’s eyes, water ripples, extra feathers, or anything else!

I love the way it turned out! I hope you enjoyed drawing it too!
