I’ve been seeing a lot of mushroom art these days so it inspired me to create this blog post of easy mushroom drawings to try out in your sketchbook.
I love mushrooms and find them so interesting that I even took a fungus class when I was in University.
There are so many different types out there and I hope I can showcase mushrooms well in this collective list.
I hope you enjoy the mushrooms and the fun of drawing them π
Drawing Tip:Β I recommend creating a pencil sketch of your drawing first. Then, if you like, you can go over that sketch with an ink pen. Finally, erase the sketch underneath once the ink dries and you have yourself your finished drawing!

1. Mushroom Caps
Let’s start off by drawing some simple mushrooms with fun patterns on their caps.
For our basic mushroom drawing, let’s start off by drawing the mushroom cap.

Step 2 of our basic mushroom drawing is to draw the stem next.

Our last step is to decorate our mushroom! I drew circles on mine.

Below are some more fun mushroom drawing ideas to try out!

2. Amanita Muscaria
This is the mushroom with the classic red mushroom cap with the white spots that many of us know. It is also commonly known as a Fly Agaric.
I created this drawing using color pencils.
Colored pencils are a great medium to use to draw as well! (In addition to pencils or pens)

3. Mushroom Cloud
Here’s a fun little doodle to try out of a cloud with mushrooms growing on it.

4. Toadstool
The term toadstool apparently comes from folklore where they thought that mushrooms with big caps were comfortable seats for toads to sit on and eat flies (Source Article).
Here’s a little drawing inspired by that.
