1. Drawing
Drawing is such a great creative hobby to pick up because all you need is paper, pencil, and your imagination. From there, you can create almost anything.

2. Watercolor Painting
Watercolor painting is so fun – and there are so many unique paintings you can create with the surprising nature of using such a fluid paint.

3. Seed Beading
Many people use seed beads for creating bracelets and necklaces, but there are so many other things you can create from seed beads.
I used to love learning how to seed bead as a child – I spent days upon days of creating little animals and figurines from seed beading, and you can even create beautiful 3D shapes from seed beading.
If you want to get started with learning how to seed bead, Elena Accessories Art on Etsy has a bunch of patterns you can use to create your own seed beaded animals.
4. Acrylic Painting
Acrylic painting is a great creative hobby to pick up, as beginner supplies can be quite cheap and you can display the art you create!

5. Digital Art
Creating digital artwork is a great hobby to pick up because there are so many styles you can play with, and it also makes it super easy to get your artwork online, whether it be for social media or an online business.
If you want to get started in digital art, I recommend buying a drawing tablet you can connect to your computer. Drawing tablets are a more affordable option than buying an Ipad Pro or a 2-in-1 laptop. I recommend this Wacom tablet from Amazon – Wacom creates the best drawing tablets on the market for both beginners and expert levels.
6. Knitting
Knitting is a great hobby to try, as it is especially calming. I can only knit a scarf, but even that is super calming to do. There is something so satisfying about doing knitting strokes over and over again, watching your soft, fluffy scarf grow longer and longer over time.
7. Filming
Filming can be a super fun hobby to pick up. When you are filming something you love and are able to share your videos with people who love what you do and make, the experience is just so gratifying.
For beginners, I highly recommend the Canon M50 for general filming purposes. It is a great mirrorless camera for really beautiful shots. It also has an external mic input.
If you want a smaller, lightweight camera for Youtube vlogging, try the Canon G7X Mark II. It is a great overall beginners camera that many Youtubers use. The only thing to be aware of is that it does not have an external mic input.
8. Embroidery
You can make so many beautiful embroidery creations with just a needle and embroidery floss.

9. Jewelry-Making
Create your own jewelry pieces, whether it be for fun or business. There are so many ways of making jewelry – whether it’s through beads, crystals, charms, resin, etc.

10. Oil Painting
Oil painting offers a slightly different process and end result than acrylic painting, so you may want to pick this type of art if it interests you!

11. Flower Arrangement
Creating flower arrangements can be a fun new hobby to try. You can also use your creations to decorate your own home. You can use dried flowers, live flower stems, or silk and artificial flowers.

12. Creative Writing
Creative writing is such a great hobby to pick up, whether you love writing or just want to get better at writing. And if you’ve always wanted to write a book in the future, why not try creative writing as a hobby for now.
13. Aquascaping
Aquascaping is such a fun creative hobby, especially if you love nature. You can bring the calming environment of rivers, oceans, and lakes to your own home and explore the science and art of creating your own aquascape.
14. Crochet
Learning how to crochet can be another fun hobby to try out next. Crocheting uses a hook instead of a needle (as in knitting) and uses a different process.
15. Photography
You don’t need a fancy, expensive camera in order to get into photography. You can use your cell phone and create an Instagram dedicated to your photography or perhaps even a Polaroid or film camera.
16. Candle-Making
Candle-making is becoming a popular new hobby to try out these days. Exploring different, unique scents can be a very calming experience – and you can also later create a business with all the candles you create.
17. Start a Home Cafe
If you love coffee, tea, snacks, and baking – You may find it fun to start your own home cafe. I love watching Youtube videos where people create really beautiful cafe creations – HANSE is a great example and there are so many recipe videos to follow along to.
18. Bullet Journaling

Terrariums are containers that contain soil, plants, and other natural elements. It is like bringing the outdoors inside, by creating your own indoor garden in a unique way.
20. Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking is the creative hobby of making art out of the memorabilia of your life, whether it be photos of yourself, family, or life experiences. Scrapbooking is a great way of treasuring the memories you create for the future.
21. Poetry
If you like writing or exploring language, you may find lots of fun in writing poetry. The great thing about poetry is that there are no rules – You don’t have to rhyme or create a structure of any sort. Whatever sounds like poetry for you is poetry – so have fun with that freedom!
22. Animation
If you enjoy creating film and want to take your videos to the next level, why not try learning animation? Making little frame-by-frame animations is more simple than people may imagine, as you don’t need an animation software to create it.
23. Origami
Origami is such an easy hobby to pick up, especially because all you need is paper. There are so many shapes you can create like origami cranes, frogs, boxes, balloons, flowers, and more.

I’ve seen some really beautiful soap creations from people making their own soap – so I recommend giving it a try if you are interested in this hobby!

Whether you have a yard or a little sun-lit room or area, anyone can get into gardening. There are so many beginner-friendly plants out there and there is so much satisfaction in taking care of plants and watching them grow with time.
26. Cross-Stitching
Cross stitching is a form of counted thread embroidery, thus is more easier for beginners than perhaps the free-form of embroidery. With cross-stitching, there are patterns you can follow so that you can create the shape you desire.
27. Nail Art
Nail art is constantly evolving, with new trends that are emerging. Creating your own nail art is not only fun, but relaxing – so I highly recommend seeing what’s new in nail art creations these days.
28. Makeup
The art of makeup is also constantly changing, with new trends and products emerging all the time. If you love makeup, why not make a hobby out of it by doing other people’s makeup or creating videos about it?
29. Cooking
If you love food, why not learn some new cooking recipes to try out and share with your loved ones!
30. Baking
Creating special treats for yourself and others can be a great new hobby to pick up. And there are so many ways you can get creative with your baked goods.
31. Pour Painting
Painting with fluid acrylics and resin is such a fun, new process of painting to learn. It’s more viscous than watercolors so you can create some really interested patterns and effects with it.

32. Learn a New Language
Learning a new language can be daunting, but there are so many ways of making it fun! Whether you learn a new language through translating songs, TV shows, or through a language learning program – It is something anyone can get started on as long as you have the interest to learn!
33. Tarot or Charm Reading
Tarot and charm reading has been around for a while and it’s only been recently that I’ve come to realize just how creative the process can be.
Tarot reading is the process of pulling cards and finding a message through the cards depicted. Likewise, charm reading involves the casting of charms and interpreting a message through the cast charms.
There are so many interpretations to reading tarot and charms – Once you learn the basics, the rest is up to you and your own intuitive sense.
If you are interested in trying tarot or charm reading as hobby, I recommend getting into it with a light heart – Do it for fun with yourself or your family and friends. And above all, do it with your best intention at heart.
34. Dancing
Dancing is not only great exercise for your body, it is also fun for the mind and soul. Whether you want to learn a specific choreography or just want to dance free-style – no matter what, it will bring more fun to your day-to-day life.
35. Singing
With practice, singing can improve – just like any other hobby. You don’t have to be born with an amazing voice to sing. Even just by learning certain techniques and practicing, your singing can improve drastically.
36. Pottery
With air dry clay and oven-bake clay, you don’t need a kiln to create beautiful pottery pieces.

39. Meditate
You may be wondering how meditating can be a creative hobby – but in my opinion, meditating is one of the best ways to start living a more creative life.
Oftentimes, we may have several creative interests we would like to pursue, but our current life or mindset stops us from ever even starting.
Meditating helps to let go of current worries, thoughts, and limitations so that we can slowly learn who we truly are and what we truly want from our lives.
From there, we can begin creating the life we truly want – and stop living a life we were taught to just accept.
If you are interested in meditation, I highly recommend Dr. Joe Dispenza’s book Becoming Supernatural. My life has changed so much since I’ve started meditating in general.
40. Improve your Handwriting
Anyone can improve their handwriting with practice and patience. You can even practice new styles of handwriting if you want to duelve into the art of handlettering.
41. Design
If you enjoy creating digital art, why not try creating new designs, whether it be for a product, character, social media, etc.
You can then perhaps showcase your designs on social media sites like Instagram, and see if it gains traction. Who knows, maybe it can become a successful online business for you.
42. Make Your Own Clothing
Whether you want to make your own clothes from scratch or DIY a new clothing piece from an already existing one, there are so many ways you can create your own clothing!
43. Journaling
Journaling is a great hobby to pick up, as it can be used for so many reasons. You can create a regular journal, art journal, planner journal, etc.
I personally love journaling about my day-to-day experiences: How I feel, what I did, what I’ve been thinking about. Just by writing these things out in a regular basis has helped me discover who I truly am.

There are so many creations you can make out of wood, but for beginners I recommend starting off small or simple.

49. Play an Instrument
There are so many instruments out there to learn and you can start learning at any age.
If you want a simple instrument to learn how to play, I recommend the Kalimba. I bought one several years back and I love listening to it. It instantly relaxes me with even one note.
Another great thing is that you can usually find a Kalimba for around $30-$40 on Amazon. This one also comes with stickers that you stick to the keys so that you can learn the notes quickly.

50. Start a Collection
Starting a new collection can be a fun new hobby to start. For example, I’ve always wanted to collect crystals, gemstones, and minerals. When I was young, I remember going to a mine open to the public and it was such a fun experience. Now I have a small collection of crystals I have bought, but one day I would like to go out and look for crystals myself.
